Hi, and welcome to my disciple page!!!

After 3 years of study, training (and travel!!) with Master Frank Allen, I became his formal disciple in the internal arts of Cheng Style Ba Gua Zhang, Hebei Hsing I and Northern Wu Tai Ji Chuan on September 5, 2009.  It was one of the proudest days (and surreal moments) of my life.

Being a disciple is a path that works for me.  It resonates deeply with my personal philosophy as a student of the internal arts, as well as connects me to a living, breathing system and lineage that explores the heights and depths of personal cultivation on every level.

I have been a student of the martial arts since I was 11, but only seriously began training about 10 years ago.  I flirted with several different external styles for a while, though never really feeling like I'd found what I was seeking.  Then, in 2004, I enrolled in a masters program for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.  This was a pivotal move because I began to see the world in terms of "qi" and energy.  Soon after, I began shopping around for a good internal school in the city, with the hopes of specifically studying Ba Gua Zhang.  Since there are only a few teaching Ba Gua around here, I figure I was bound to find Frank sooner or later.  The rest, as they say, is history.

Here's a little something I will share with you about me:  my life is supported by "The Four M's".  These are the pillars that serve as the foundation for my work as a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine practitioner.  My personal philosophies towards living and how I spend most of my time.  In no particular order, they are Martial Arts, Medicine, Mysticism and Mei Pi Gu.  The first three should be self-explanatory.  The fourth you will have to ask me about!!!

Looking ahead, I am excited about fulfilling my disciple obligations to the best of my ability.  I look forward to a life of actively promoting these incredible systems which have given me so much.
In the meantime, thanks for stopping by and for your support of the Chinese Internal Martial Arts.  Long live the Wu Tang P.C.A. and the Original 9!!!!!!   And thanks, Frank.  For everything.

Currently, I am teaching a beginner Ba Gua Zhang class on Saturday afternoons from 12-1pm at City Acupuncture - 139 Fulton St., 6th Floor.  Please feel free to come by and check it out anytime.  I am also available for private instruction and can be reached at [email protected] or 646-943-4226.
